One-time National Football League Athlete Antonio Brown Enters Innocent Plea in Murder Attempt Case

Ex- NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is heading to Miami to face an attempted murder allegation related to a gunfire that happened in May, with his counsel entering a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Detention logs in Essex, New Jersey, show that Brown was discharged on Tuesday early for his relocation to Florida. Brown, a highly popular players in the NFL, had forgone extradition to Florida from New Jersey, where he was detained after being apprehended in the city of Dubai.

Brown’s counsel, Mark Eiglarsh, said in an email that he has earlier filed a formal innocent declaration to the attempted murder charge. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as soon as Wednesday morning for a bail session, Eiglarsh said.

As per his arrest order, Brown is charged of grabbing a firearm from a protection employee after a star boxing bout in May and firing multiple shots at a man he had clashed with previously. The reported individual, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, informed investigators that a bullet scraped his neck.

Eiglarsh asserted that Brown was only protecting himself from Nantambu.

“The actions he was compelled to take were purely in defense against the alleged person’s hostile conduct. Brown was assaulted that time and acted within his rightful entitlement to defend himself,” Eiglarsh commented.

Brown was not immediately apprehended because initially police did not consider Nantambu as a affected party. It not until afterward in May that Nantambu provided a complete testimony about the event to officers and pointed out Brown as the gunman, the report says.
