Movie, this new installment will transport Mario to the distant reaches of the universe. There, he will encounter a new princess and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne. A Space-Faring Quest Based on Beloved Titles In the vein of the games from the Wii period that serve as its inspiration, Mario will leave behind the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. Throughout his extensive trek, he will reunite with some recognizable characters, for instance the Luma, a fan favorite from the previous film. However, it seems Mario and his sibling Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who apparently utilizes powers related to metal. Worth mentioning, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also features references to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury. Star-Studded Voice Cast Come Back and Grow The feature will see the return of the initial voice actors, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to embody Bowser Jr. It was announced by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination. The company has a trio of new releases officially announced for that year, including Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Release Date Confirmed The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
